"Our aim is to support customers from the initial idea through to implementation with a 360-degree concept," explains Thomas Wermke, Division Manager at SCHÄFER IT-Systems. "Thanks to our modular production, we can realise individual solutions from medium quantities that are delivered in consistent quality over long periods of time." A significant added value for customers: The customised configuration is fixed by unique article numbers, so that identical racks can be easily reordered even years later.

Successful reference project at research institute
A current example of the diverse customisation solutions from SCHÄFER IT-Systems is the collaboration with a research institute. A customised rack concept was needed there to meet the specific IT requirements.

One of the main challenges was the limited space available: The installation took place in an extremely confined space. From the base to the cabinet dimensions,to the panelling parts such as the roof and side panels, every detail was individually planned to optimally fulfil the specific requirements. Integrated, energy-efficient cooling with water-cooled, rack-based cooling units is a key component here.

Customised solution developed
SCHÄFER IT-Systems collaborated closely with the institute’s team. After an on-site appointment, the first designs were created in the in-house design department. The prototype construction made it possible to test the rack under real conditions before it was finally manufactured. The result is a precisely customised special solution that guarantees maximum efficiency and functionality.

Users are highly satisfied with the solution. This is because the customised rack system with integrated cooling not only meets the high quality standards, but also enables seamless integration into the existing system.

It was particularly important for the institute´s scientists to ensure the required manoeuvrability of the IT solution. They are extremely satisfied with the customised component supplied. It fulfils the quality requirements in full. According to those involved in the project, the collaboration was pleasant and smooth.

Standardised individuality for branch operations
In addition to fully customised special designs, SCHÄFER IT-Systems also offers modular individualisation.
