Inside Ventilation Unit
For the safe operation of the BackCooler

Heat accumulation between the rear side of the server and the BackCooler can cause warm air to flow back through the partition to the server’s air intake side. The Inside Ventilation Unit from SCHÄFER ensures safe operation even when the server’s airflow is too low to overcome the pressure drop of the heat exchanger.

A bidirectional airflow sensor measures both the speed and direction of the airflow at a 1U partition panel. The control system evaluates this data and controls the fans at the same speed to achieve an adjustable setpoint at the hot/cold separation.
